I started this web site because a friend of mine Mr R Dickson from Stevenston Ayrshire had been awarded a tax rebate of £1800 for the year 2009-2010 and although Axe the Tax Ltd had received it in their bank account they have not sent it to him. What's more worrying is that they have severed all contact with him and will not reply to his letters or telephone calls. Not only have they refused to discuss payment with him they also refuse to reply to demands from the inland revenue regarding their requests for information needed so they can do a check on how the assessments that were submitted were calculated. This has resulted in the Inland Revenue asking my friend to repay £700 which they feel was overpaid. This could be easily sorted if Axe the Tax would do the job my friend paid them to do.
Please be warned that if you no longer wish Axe the Tax Ltd to represent you that you inform your tax office immediately in writing as I have been informed by their clients that although they haven't sent details for the tax year 2010/2011 to Axe the Tax Ltd because they are still waiting for rebates that they should have receive from the previous year that the tax office are still receiving assessments and paying rebates to Axe the Tax. Remember until the Inland revenue is informed that Axe the Tax Ltd no longer represents you they are quite entitled to do this and WILL demand that you repay these credits back to them even though it is Axe the Tax Ltd that is giving them estimated figures and not figures that you have furnished them with.

I was browsing your website and noticed you were looking for info so I googled Axe the Tax Ltd and came up with this article on the web site www.justanswer.com that should interest you. Customer Question Ask your own question now > A friend who does not speak English has a major problem. He employed a company calle "Axe The Tax" to act as his agents in recovering Tax in connection with travel and accomodation expenses for his employment. The claim was submitted, and the Tax Office approved it and sent the money (about £5.5K) and the papers back to the agents. Since then he has heard nothing from the agents and received no money. A second tax office then started a compliance audit and requested the papers for inspection. The agents have not responded and as a consequence the refund has been cancelled and my friend has been presented with a bill for the money plus interest. He cannot pay. Is he now liable to have his home entered by Bailiffs? What should he do.? The tax authorities say the case is closed.
Thanks Dave The problem is that we have no way of knowing if this case has been resolved as we have no contact number for the persons involved. Just hope it has been sorted as five and a half grand is a lot of cash.
I have found a new residential address for Mr Howard Denham: 4A Clarence Road East Cowes Isle Of Wight PO32 6EP. As he taken occupancy at the end of 2010 this seems to be his most recent residential address.
I have been advised that as this forum is open to public viewing that members should not put in any personal details when commenting unless they wish these details to become public knowledge.
I have been informed by two of Axe the Tax Ltd clients that Evelyn Kearney no longer works for Axe the Tax Ltd. Now does this mean she is no longer on the payroll but is still the company secretary in which case she may still have liabilities or does this mean that she is also no longer holding this position as well. If this is indeed the case then Axe the Tax Ltd should notify Company House of these changes within two weeks. Hmmmm, watch this space.
my unfortunate experiences with a Mr Howard Derham of East Cowes Isle of Wight.
you may be interested in my situation.
In October last year Mr Derham who was acting as my agent claiming back overpaid travel expenses on my behalf, pre-fabricated a claim in my name without myself forwarding no details onto him.
I recieved notification from my tax office saying my agent Mr Howard Derham had recieved £1800 of overpaid tax on my behalf.
I never recieved a penny of this money from Mr Derham.
I contacted Mr Derham after several attempts via letters asking him to amend my details as I felt this amount to be incorrect. He amended the claim. The tax office later contacted me with notification of the amended claim and apparently I was due just over £400 instead of the £1800 and so the tax office demanded the moneys overpaid to Derham back immediatley or the tax office would feel obliged to employ the services of baliffs to come to my house and claim from my household.
As you can imagine, myself and my wife were devastated by this action as we had not recieved a penny from Derham but we had to settle the difference.
I tried and tried to contact Derham via recorded and sign for letters to his company 'Axe the Tax' but got only one reply saying there was a clitch in the tax system and he had recieved nothing as such from the revenue.
Ihave heard nothing more from Derham, but I have submitted a letter and telephone conversation with my tax office asking for Howard Derham to have no more dealings with my accounts.
Thanks Darren. I appreciate you sharing what must have been a pretty traumatic experience with us. Unfortunately I have heard similar stories from Axe the Tax Ltd clients from all over the country. Please hold onto the letter you received stating that there was a glitch in the tax system as this is evidence of fraud and not simply the actions of a company finding themselves in a cash-flow situation.
If others have similar experiences to the one Darren has had or indeed wish to praise Axe the Tax Ltd please comment so we can build a true picture of the situation that is causing so much distress to so many people.
As you can see by my previous comment that I have been asking other Axe the Tax Ltd clients to leave a comment describing their experiences with this company. I received an email from a lady that I think sums up exactly the distress that has been cause by them. ------" I had tried to put experience on couple of times ,but i had problems maybe me as not really a whizz on computers!!!! And was a bit worried after speaking to derhams secretay, she made me feel i was in the wroung for making a fuss of the situation, n really just want to forget about the horrid situation....i know we not in the wroung but lets hope they get what they deserve....."
